Natural Gas Calibration Standards

Air Liquide offers a comprehensive selection of natural gas and natural gas liquid (NGL) calibration standards. The mixtures below are available as Scott™ Custom Class™ products to meet your routine analytical requirements. Contact us regarding your specific applications.

Calorimetric

This standard reflects the composition of many natural gas pipelines.

High Ethane

Recommended for applications where heavier hydrocarbon values are not significant.

GPA

The Gas Processors Association's "GPA Standard of Analysis for Natural Gas and Similar Gaseous Mixtures by Gas Chromatography" (GPA Publication 2261-72) and ASTM's Method D-1945-62T recommend this mixture for calibration and analysis.

Helium Enriched

Natural gas containing a high level of helium requires a gas standard with an appreciable increase in helium concentration.

Specific BTU

Specific BTU methane is provided in high-pressure cylinders at 2000 psig (138 bar). Air Liquide makes standards for all BTU analyzers - please inquire. Natural gas standards are commonly sold in size 108 cylinders (100 lbs.) or SCOTTY™ 14 cylinders (volume dependent on mixture).
