Liquid Mixtures
For refining and petrochemical applications
Air Liquide has the expertise to prepare all types of liquid hydrocarbon mixtures featuring guaranteed reliability and quality. In the case of pure hydrocarbons, the phase (liquid or gas) is determined by the liquid/vapor equilibrium. Therefore, introducing hydrocarbon components into a mixture can affect the phase of the blend and result in technical limitations. Typically, hydrocarbon calibration mixtures are a combination of many different components having a wide range of boiling points. Changes in conditions, such as temperature or pressure, can cause condensation or vaporization of certain components. In such cases, the composition of each sample taken from the cylinder may differ from its original analysis.
Mixture Composition
To prevent mixture composition from changing as the cylinder is depleted, it is necessary to limit pressure variations within the cylinder and to take the sample from the liquid phase. Down the line, the product can then be used either as a liquid stream or a gaseous stream. Gas cylinders containing liquid hydrocarbon blends can be provided in the following packaging options.
Gas Mixtures Containing Liquefying Components
You may prefer a gas cylinder containing a gaseous mixture. Keep in mind that this may impose certain limitations on the concentration of some components and/or on the cylinder pressure. Simply contact us with your requirements and we can advise you.
